Melett strengthens marketing team with new appointment

We have bolstered our marketing team with the appointment of Jacqueline Barker as marketing assistant, to shore up company communications and develop positive customer relations.

Barker, who has been with us for 4.5 years, moves into the team from the customer care department, where she focused on developing and maintaining relationships with our customers, and is therefore well placed in understanding ongoing demand and key customer requirements.

In her new role, she will support the marketing department by assisting on creative campaign delivery and maximising engaging customer contact.

Barker said: “I’m really pleased to have been appointed to the marketing team and support efforts to fulfil our role as our customers’ trusted advisor, and I look forward to engaging with them in creative, dynamic, and informative ways.

“I’m excited to have the chance to work on digital design projects, as it allows me to combine my creativity and passion for design. I love the welcoming, supportive, and collaborative working environment of the office at Melett – the company is consistent in its approach of adding value and maintaining positive client relationships.”

Some of Barker’s key roles will be to assist with new product bulletins, social media content, internal communications, reporting on key business metrics and website administration.

Melett hails resounding success of Automechanika Birmingham exhibition

Melett has hailed its attendance at Automechanika Birmingham a success, following the three-day event at the NEC in Birmingham from June 6th-8th.

Members of the entire automotive aftermarket, from supplying companies to technicians and garage owners, flocked to the NEC to see the latest technology and innovation in the automotive sector.

Taking place from 6 to 8 June 2023 at the NEC, the show will provide us with the opportunity to link up with customers and other key industry professionals once again. Kenny Taylor – General Manager

Kenny joined the business back in June 2012 and is one of the founding members at Melett North America. Speaking on the role, he said: “It’s been a highly successful 10 years, and I have thoroughly enjoyed building strong relationships throughout the industry, whilst showcasing and delivering Melett’s high-quality, specialist offering to the North American and Canadian markets.”

Taylor is a lifelong Memphian and graduate of The University of Memphis where he studied Mechanical Engineering. His interests include drag racing, being on the lake and spending time with his six grandkids.

Donna Hensley – Customer Service Manager

Donna has been with Melett for over 10 years and she is the first point of contact to provide excellent customer service. Supporting Kenny Taylor, she responds efficiently to customer requests, actively seeking to maximise sales opportunities. Her other responsibilities include invoicing, bank reconciliation, undertaking general administrative duties, and other ad hoc duties as required.

Hensley recently celebrated her 35th wedding anniversary to husband Randy, who together share one son, Kevin. Seeking to downsize, they moved from the suburbs 9 years ago and now enjoy the city life in downtown Memphis. Her passions include reading, everything soccer, and Memphis Grizzlies basketball.

Jose Perez – Business Development Manager

Jose joined the business in 2021 and his role focuses on driving business growth through conducting market research, seeking new development opportunities and working to build & maintain customer relationships, whilst developing new ones.

In his free time, Perez enjoys spending time with his son and close family members, attending Memphis Grizzlies games, working out at the local gym, and being outdoors.

Mike Franke – Technical/Sales Support

Mike joined Melett in October 2022 and brings a wealth of experience from working within the turbocharger industry since 1988 comprising of workshop, distribution, and manufacturing operations. In his Technical Support role, Franke deals with Turbo and CHRA warranties, responding to any technical support inquiries where required. Mike also provides administrative and sales support to the Memphis team, and works closely with the UK team to assist with product development.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys endurance sports including distance running, cycling and swimming, often tying up the three into long-course triathlons! He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife of 33 years, Frances, who together share their home to two cats and one goofy dog!
